It's plausible that in the future every photo taken will be wirelessly stored online containing metadata that photosynth can utilise. In that scenario - you should be able to hold a camera in front of you, take a photo, then travel a 3d map back to your own house - or anywhere in known space. Wont that be cool. Take it one step further and biocomputers/implants become commonplace. Each person becomes a real-time broadcaster of their suroundings. In that environment Photosynth would allow you to experience anywhere at any given time. The emporer would be naked. You could be omnipotent. That may not be so cool given the authoritarian issues that rise. |
