DJ'ing yes. Does he even play live anymore? I mean only his
own tunes?

He's great DJing. Often plays new / unreleased stuff. I want
him to play at my wedding.

thinking bout going there,
though the place will be packed for real,
500 early bird tickets sold out already :)

it will be like 130€ just to get there
by plane and into the house.
guess that would be money spent well

anyone have a notion of what kind of stuff AFX and Vibert
are going to playing? I know it could be anything but just
wondering if its likely to be in the same vein as Otto Von

I actually found the aphex set kinda disappointing. First 20
mins or so was pretty wanky hip-hop style stuff and the
dancefloor was almost at a standstill. It did get better
though, and he did play one of my fav tracks in smart
systems - tingler (state side swamp mix) which is just the
most awesome of old skool hardcore'age. Then it went through
the usual jungle, some tuss (i think) followed by some crazy
drill-type stuff at the end. Like Exaph says, the fat aphex
dancers were good fun, and it was nice to see richard has
finally got a haircut :)

Vibert was great as always, playing his usual diverse
selection. DJ Rephlex (which I assume was Grant) played a
lot of gabber and hard techno. My favourite of the night was
probably Otto Von Schirach who did an insane live
performance at the end. I think most people were a little
fucked by that point, but I thought it was great.

Venue was awesome and the sound was very clear. It must have
reached near-capacity when Aphex was on, with about 3000
people there. Good night.

oooh Vibert and Rephlex were amazing and Otto's just a crazy
bastard. :D
As Dennis said, Aphex was a bit of a disappointment. It felt
like for the first half an hour or more he was just kind of
taking the piss. Everyone was just.. standing there and
gently nodding or something. Once he got going though it was
gooood. The place was absolutely rammed! Lovely venue
though, although the fact it was so big was a bit weird,
because whenever I see live electronica (except the last
Warehouse Project) it's in a tiny little grimey club, so it
felt a bit like I was at some.. stadium gig or something.
Somehow from within a room of 3000 bouncing sweaty people,
ijonspeches managed to recognise me. I'm glad he did but it
makes you think, teh interwebs is a scary place!

unreleased Tuss material..

so much stuff gets labelled as unreleased aphex, until
months later someone comes along and points out what the
track is and everyone stops caring : )

the only 'unreleased aphex' from previous sets that i'm
aware of has either turned out to be the tuss, or not been
identified.
