Life is usually pretty boring

offline Monoid from one source all things depend on 2007-07-22 12:33 [#02105604]

I think boredom is the cause of wars, teenage pregnancy,
capitalism, suicide

intelligent people don't get bored, there's too much to do
and discover and occupy your mind on this planet. so boredom
must be caused by overlaziness

Pacal, Heidegger, Sartre etc. wrote and probably experience
boredom

boredom is NEVER a cause. it's only a symptom of something
entirely which could cause wars, etc. could, in the
sense of "hardly ever". fuck, why do i even bother with this
shit.
just have another wank, monoid. perhaps you'll make yourself
useful.

Boredome is the absence of 'meaning'.

Even you, working a monotonous factory job, have no excuse
to be bored. You should be spending your hours casing the
joint and carefully planning. For your future revenge.

if you want to check out some of Boredom's music.... try
SUPER AE... monstrous album in my opinion. it is probably
not a bad idea at all trying to get familiar with the sound
before going to a concert... have fun!

I'm never bored, but I do have times where I drift between
things to do aimlessly.
You need more structure in your life.

i think it's easy to enjoy boredom once you've grown
accustomed to it.

you think there's nothing to do even though there's a book
or video game or movie within easy reach, you're just
sitting on your bed feeling frustrated, you don't have any
friends available, you're clutching the edge of your blanket
and staring into space. you're thinking 'hey, this is kinda
all right'.

Nature is interested in only two things - to survive and to
reproduce one like itself. Anything you superimpose on that,
all the cultural input, is responsible for the boredom of
man.

Boredom is a bottomless pit. As long as you think that there
is something more interesting, more purposeful, more
meaningful to do than what you are actually doing, you have
no way of freeing yourself from boredom.

The boredom and restlessness you feel inside you is there
only because you think you must be doing something more
interesting, more meaningful, and more valuable than what
you are already doing.
