Is it gonna suck or blow? The last 5 - 10 years of the
show have been crap but I have good feelings about this
movie. I'll definitely see it but not on opening weekend.

they got alot of good writers from what i hear, and you'd
expect them to be able to make the movie just stand out from
the crappy recent seasons. so im hoping its good, but it
could easily be really bad.
i remember groening saying that the movie would mark the end
of the series. im kinda upset this isnt the case. the show
needs to end.

Yes, it's awesome the way the Americans lack the restraint
to "go out on a high" with TV shows and instead drag them
out for years and years after they have started to become
crap, till even the most ardent fans loathe what the show
has become.

I chose to repost that not to mock you, but rather because
it states the problem perfectly and is exactly how I feel,
minus the part about it being awesome. ;)

To quote one of my lecturers, "One really ought only to
quote, either to: recite a legal statute a scientific law,
or when someone has summed something up so perfectly that
you cannot say it differently without losing some of the
impact or making it unnecassarily verbose."

So I'll take that as a great compliment. :D

The best part of your reply just now is that in discussing
your lecturer's quote, you managed to reply to me and use
the quote exactly as your lecturer would have wanted,
creating almost a post-quote vortex, the effects of which
may not be fully realized for another 300,000 millennia.

not really fair to paint all american programming with the
simpson's brush. What about Startrek, M*A*S*H, Friends,
Seinfeld, King of the Hill, Family Ties, Full House, Cosby
Show... oh wait... ok you win.

I have only seen one trailer and it really doesn't impress
me.I laughed really hard though at the end where Homer holds
the pig to the roof and sings "spider pig! Spider
pig!"

The little chubby pigs facial expression and the way Homer
sings it in low key. Flawless =)
"watchout!! he's the spider pig!"

I remember in one Simpson episode where they made a joke
about the short life span of British TV shows.

yeah i don't think im gonna watch it. one problem ive had in
the past i dont know how many seasons is the animation looks
shitty and it just aint funny. the movie looks even worse.
if it were up to me, it'd perpetually be season five.

i imagine watching the movie will be like watching a small,
oddly-shapen poop being pushed slowly through the screen.

It was pretty good. Most of the best bits have been seen in
the trailers. Took my girlfriends little brother to watch it
and he guffawed most of the way through. It was a terrible
decision (in my opinion) to take the simpsons out of
Springfield for half the film as then there were no
secondary characters. The first half an hour was brilliant,
then the rest kind of plodded along with some good jokes
dotted around. It was nice seeing Green Day get killed. One
semi-regular character dies.
