These are actually pretty cool. It's like the Advantage but
I like how you use some synths, too. You should finish these
and then let us know when you are done.

Yes, these are good. Do more, and make them longer!

offline bontempi on 2007-07-16 00:32 [#02103121]
Points: 26 Status: Regular

thanks !

there are no synths though. there's is a hidden one in
faxanadu at the end of the track, but that's it.
the rest is just drums/guitar/bass

these are quite short cause the song themselves are just
short loops... i was too lazy to play them twice :)

thanks again

Oh, you've got a drumset with a xylophone type instrument on
it, then? What's that bell sound in the SMB3 cover?

offline bontempi on 2007-07-16 01:22 [#02103127]

aah ok i see
that's a toy xylophone (or vibraphone ? dunno) :)
recorded with a mic

Ah, nice! You should use more of those. :) I like these
songs a lot, you should do more of them and also keep using
the toy instruments. They give it a very nintendo-y feel.
Not 8-bit, but rather that almost disney-ish feeling of glee
that Nintendo captures so well.

I'll definately check that out, but as of now my browser
keeps crashing when I try to load that. I'm sure a restart
would fix it but it's so late that if I'm doing anything to
the computer, it's going to be turning it off. :)

Haven't had someone post music made with physical
instruments in a while.

Really good. I like it.

always nice to hear instrumentations of video game tunes,
although your track choices could have been a bit more
obscure.

I just assumed mario music was made with a magical keyboard;
didn't know it was replicatable, or replicable, however you
spell and pronounce that.

I don't have a ride, so I can't make that ride thing. I
don't have any other drums either, but drumrolls aside, I
can manage most other things.

wow, the one you did for smb1, level 1-1 is really good.
It's funky and jazzy but still feels like NES. How many more
of these are you planning on doing? Do you take requests?

thanks a lot !
well there's no plan, i sometimes do a drum recording
session of various tracks and then i finish whatever i feel
like finishing.
drop your request, i may do it if i know the track & i'm not
too lazy
