it's been like this for a couple of days, no idea what the
fuck happened. i hate it, totally fucks up messing w/ sounds
and tracks and everything. there's no loud phenomena or
anything that could've caused the deafness either. it must
be something internal going on that i cannot see. anyways,
this is terrible. disorienting, weird, and almost painful
(in the right one) when stuff is loud. there's this constant
loud UUUUAAHHMMMM in that ear, too. i hate it.

anyways, holy fuck. guys, take care of your ears. we're all
so crazy about music and this is a topic we have never
discussed. how can we enjoy music if we can't fucking hear

How's your sense of balance?

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2007-06-22 12:48 [#02096204]

Actually scratch that - it could be an inner ear infection
even if you don't have the loss of balance.

Fuck, I don't envy you Americans with your lack of health
care.

With completely dry fingertips, rub them against each other
to make a sort of "sssh, ssh" sound. Hold it up to your ears
and move your hands slowly outwards. How far out until you
can't hear the sound any more? Is it much farther than on
the other ear? Also, it could be better if you ask someone
else to do it for you, as you could imagine the sound being
there when it isn't because you know you're moving your
fingers.. make it so that you can't see the hands of the
other person.. just look straight ahead.

In any case see a doctor if it hurts.

the distance is much further for the left ear than the right
ear

It could be just ear wax that has clogged up your ear canal
or an infection (or both), and in any case you should see a
doctor, but maybe you should try going to a drug store and
getting one of those blobs and the stuff that you use to
clean out your ears and try that first?

its not wax, believe me. i got in there real deep !!!

i used this special thing too that you shoot in your ear and
lay sideways for 10 minutes

Water/liquid, or something solid like a q-tip?

impacted wax can become really really hard. i've seen pics
from doctors offices that show some unearthly demons that
were removed from people's ears.

i had problems with this before due to water in the ear...
it's like a super hardcore lowpass filter on one of the
ears, REALLY annoying. haven't happened for a while though.

See a doctor as soon as possible.
You don't fuck around with you hearing (I did and I'm deaf
as fuck now)

Yeah dude go to a doctor or a physician's assistant asap!
Better to pay now than pay later with your wallet and your
hearing!

It could be a mental thing. Are you high? Your hearing can
get really weird when you've been silly with the powders and
the.

Probably an ear infection. GO SEE A DOCTOR!

My hearing is permanently damaged in both ears from lots of
ear infections as a child. I can't hear well at all. My left
ear sounds trebly and my right sounds bassy. It sucks.

Coincidentally, I watched the movie Cop Land the other day.
In it, the main character (who is deaf in his left ear)
loses the hearing in his right ear when a bad guy shoots a
gun right in front of his ear. He's staggering around and
can only hear a loud ringing.

I have a constant tinnitus on my right ear, and I get sound
fatigue quickly.. at the Public Enemy concert, after just a
little while, each kick drum made me loose my balance.
