so as some of you may have seen me mention before, i
recently got my macbook back from having beer spilled on it
and the thing spending over a month at apple to get fixed.

so the techs who i gave the comp to did manage to copy my
harddrive (which was really the only surviving part of the
whole machine), which included a windows partition for boot
camp.

since i have gotten back the computer, i cannot delete the
folder which was originally my windows partition, nor can i
repartition my harddrive. every time i try, it says i do
not have sufficient permissions for doing this. this
happens even when i am logged in as the root user.

i would really like to be able to repartition my harddrive
so i can get back to using my cracked version of ableton
since there isnt one out for mac (arrg!), but with this one
folder being a little bitch, i cant! help!

mark the folder, press apple+i, or select File + Get Info
and there should be a section called Ownership & Permissions
at the bottom, you should be able to set it straight by
selecting the right one

when i try that, even as the root user, it still says i do
not have permission to.

also, if i try it on individual files, i get some odd error
message.

so i finally figured out how to just delete the folder in
the console, but now when i attempt to boot camp i get this
message:

Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a
single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your
information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant
again.

i checked my hdd, and it is formatted like that, but....
