 | Worst port to the computer ever. The controls are so backwards that every time an enemy is approaching me I have
to pause it to see what to do in the manual. You would think
they would have factored the mouse into the aiming system,
or even figured to change the in game instructions to
keyboard commands instead of numbered play station buttons.
 Waste of money. :(

 | Yeah I heard it was awful, but it's too be expected, Capcom has a habit of half-assed PC ports, it's very disappointing.
Coincidentally, the supposedly definitive RE4 will be out
for Wii in a couple of days, I'll be buying it for the third
platform and I am Capcom's bitch.

play station game being set up so it can run on a PC).

 | I like the atmosphere of this game, just not its gameplay. The mouse would make aiming so much easier... why keep it
all on the keyboard. Silent Hill 3 had some issues as well,
but its nowhere near as awkward because they integrated the
mouse and the movement comes natural.

 | It's adapting software, in this case a game, for a platform it wasn't originally designed for. Bringing the code over to
spread the love around. But unfortunately not all ports are
lovingly executed. In RE4's case it's because of laziness on
the developers' part. Other times it's because the platform
you're porting over to just isn't suited for the software.

The RE4 port over to PS2 was very impressive considering the
 hardware.

 | I would assume it was because the game wasn't designed give the player such pinpoint accuracy. That adds to the urgency,
the very high chance that you can miss. Maybe their logic
was that the accuracy of a mouse would make this too easy,
like shooting fish in a barrel. This isn't an FPS. I dunno.
I'm sort of playing devil's advocate here, they definitely
had a reason. Either way I hope the Wii controls finally
realize the potential of that remote.

moves like an N64 game for fuck's sake.

 | From what I've read you shouldn't even bother playing the game without a good PC gamepad. I always read reviews before
purchasing a game for exactly this reason. I would have been
angry had I bought the game expecting to use mouse. That
being said, Capcom is well-established and, I thought,
wouldn't normally skimp on the controls. So in that respect,
you shouldn't have to check a review the make sure the game
will be controllable. Pretty lame, Capcom.

i'd say it's worth the 'upgrade' for possibly even better

the wii-mote could enhance the whole thing even more), the
whole game being on one disc instead of 2, some extra
features, and a lower introduction price (from what i've

 | They DO come smaller than 32 inches because mine is 26, and widescreen. It's almost as close as my monitor so it feels
pretty big and cinematic, 26 inches is the sweet spot at
this distance. And I'm biased here but for gaming I
recommend Sharp over Samsung, because when I was shopping
around I was also considering a Samsung or Sony, and found
that they have 8ms response time compared to 6ms for the
Aquos. Important to have that as fast as possible for all
the quick movement you get when playing a game. Anyway just
throwing that out there because it's fresh in my mind.
Samsung is a good brand too, you get what you pay for with
 TVs, that's for sure.

 | I'm not at all a fan of Nintendo's direction or the Wii, and it's funny that the first Wii game to impress me is a port
of a 2.5 year old game. But for me the first-party Nintendo

Mario, Smash Bros, etc. Plus Manhunt. Oh, the innovation.

 | There's nothing wrong with rail shooters specifically, but thpeaking for me perthonally, I'm concerned about this game
 because-

Ay- Resident Evil sidestories/spinoffs like this are always
afterthoughts, the C or D teams work on them

Bee- the RE4 engine was built for the GC and works even
better for the Wii. And RE4 itself works so well with those
controls. But instead of a fully realized new RE adventure
with a new story and new settings and new mechanics, it's
a... rail shooter based on old story elements and rehashed
environments. I realize that Capcom has all their best
people chained to their workstations working 16 hours a day
on RE5 and that they probably can't be bothered to put any
real effort into another true RE game, but... I dunno. They
must have been working on Code Veronica and Nemesis
simultaneously back in the day, and both games were
ambitious additions to the RE canon. I just wanted a more
substantial effort, especially because RE4 Wii is so
 wicked.

I think ''Bee'' was all kinds of points in one convoluted
paragraph. I'll find out later, proofreading is for pussies.

 | the only thing i have against rail shooters is the item pickups. say youre playing for an hour or so and youve got
the low health with no herbs (we've all been in a similar
situation, right? right.) so you pass one by but you have to
shoot it while its on the screen, you miss it and youve got
to battle your way for who knows how long. thats the only
problem i have with them. also, they could be filled with
cream. more things should be filled with cream.

 | if you're getting hit enough in a rail shooter to need a health item then you've already failed. i once blew threw
panzer dragoon orta on hard mode and my only screw-up was
letting the boss get in a one-hit kill in the final level.
women want to be me and men want my babies.

 | I've got 5 stars on The Mercenaries on most of the levels with most characters (all with Wesker and Krauser, all bar
one with Hunk and Ada). I am still unable to get 5 stars on
any level with Leon though. Bloody girly-haired pinch of
 snuff.
