the stuff on your myspace is really good stuff (not than
i'm in any position to be able to say what is good and what
isn't good)

i particularly like Kitty Cups and An Open Letter To

have you been doing stuff for long?

do you have any constructive advice that might help my music
to not be shit?

the way i used to start a track was with percussion
prgramming first, but i felt my melodic content was
suffering as a result, so i have recently been starting with
notes first. but it would seem that this isn't the best
approach either.

any constructive advice would be appreciated

Also, it'd be funnier if you came back as clogbelch (see,
the c and the l almost make a d) instead.

Yours truly
Ian Noll

oscillik I love you and when I textually have a go at you
it's because I want you TO GO FOR IT and I think you can but
I worry you get in thrall to the machines and don't go far
with them. I can't offer advice mate as I'm not a musician
and I'm not serious about making music either. Take what I
say with a pinch of salt, 99% of it is for my own amusement,
not to cause offence, and I hope you carry on working and
I'm sure you'll get there.

My only advice is to, sure be influenced by people, but...
use the machines to your own ends, force them to do what you
want, make a fucking racket, turn the knobs up to 11, make
something filthy, make something pristine, make something
that demands to be heard, make something that says to the
listener "You fucking areshole", .. you know, anything other
than polite demos with machines just plinking away.

Again, disclaimer, I don't know what I am talking about. But
you're a lad who feels a lot, we've all read about it, and I
don't hear that in the music. And I think I should. But
don't get mad, get even. As they say.

thanks

i think you do know what you're talking about.your advice
may not be technically orientated or musically orientated,
but it is attitudinal advice

That's the thing you need to get over. Making good
electronic music isn't necessarily about being technically
or musically orientated. It's about making little boxes
make sounds you like to hear and for you to announce it to
the world as "this is MY music and fuck you if you don't
like it". The Grinning Ape mentality.

Of course, you don't have to be aggressive, you can just
make music because music is inside of you and requires
release.

Good, fuck off, as much as I derive great pleasure at
haranguing affectatious turdslips I'll let our inevitably
mealy, fruitless exchange slide.

This thread is evidence that if you slap your nob across
someone's face often enough they'll eventually start sucking
it. I've seen it in more than a few porn vids
xltronic threads.
