I like Pitchfork! Yeah
It's a great site for discovering new music, and their
musical scope mostly coincides with the music I listen to
these days. And their reviews aren't as pretentious and
incoherent as they used to be.

they're alright, yeah. never hated them like a lot of people
seem to do.

I never hated them, and kinda agreed with the numerical
ratings they gave, but the reviews were way too thoughest
and not enjoyable for me to read.

they may not have the best reviews but they're sure good at
introducing me to new musics.

Some of their review are total pretentious bullshit, but
it's a great place to discover new stuff, yes. And it has
actually been a while since I've read one of those "1000
words with absolutely no reasonable information"-reviews.
Maybe they got sober.

I don't mind writers that are a bit pretentious, but it's
just that the Pitchfork writers are such a bunch of fucking
gormless nerds.

sucks-hype

some pitchfork writers actually make some pretty good music,
like matmos.

i think dominique leone (pitchfork writer) has done a lot of
great writing about Boredoms + related albums and overall
interesting music. there are a lot of total dweebs on there
though.

he seems to be their standard reviewer for idm albums, which
i dislike. i'd rather read more than one opinion on them.

I think they serve a purpouse and I use them all the time to
keep me up to date on what's going on in the alternative
wing of popular music... I find Pitchfork to be somewhere
between (the fucking) NME and The Wire... It also reminds me
in a way of that glorious MTV show they had back in the
90's: 120 Minutes! Great show, lots of different music,
informative and available...

So yes, I approve of Pitchfork..

I remember 120 Minutes, but I was too young to be into
music. The host, Paul King(?), looked like a Star Trek
Vulcan

Yes, Paul King it was! And he was not a Vulcan but a retired
pop-star. I thought he was funny as a tv host and definitely
the best host for 120 minutes anyway. When he disappeared
the whole thing went downhill really....
