So my mom bought herself a new compy with a video card with imputs for tv signals (HP pavillion Media Center), it comes with windows media center, which i've used for 2 hours and I already hate.
my mom was very dissapointed to see that the quality that the computer receives is pretty bad. is there a way to make this better, maybe with different software? or low quality means the card is a piece of crap. maybe just record shows they don't need to be watched live or anything just good quality recordings of tv would suffice.

Just move away from your parents and them sort it out.

I guess that would depend partly on your monitor. Look up HP Pavilion media center on the internet and see what the options are on the card, or what the messageboards have to say about it.
