Reminds me of bribing 16 year-olds to stay in school. Awful.

NHS = National Health Service

Something which you, being an American, won't be familiar
with.

the NHS gives you a wii to not smoke a fag for a day? yeah
no duh it benefits your health, but some people smoke for
100+ years, who knows, its prol not good for you though :)

America=you pay for your own health care, good companies pay
75%+ of your health care. If you cant afford health care,
the gov. can pitch in. Yes, anything free could be sketchy.

<---32 never broke anything.

Jackson and his UK Smoking Band.

I was used to going outside to smoke in Norway. When I moved
to Copenhagen, smoking in bars felt almost unnatural

i went to a no smoking bar in the city and it felt weird
going outside/ wanting a cig every five minutes.

I don't mind going outside, really. You smoke less, the
clothes don't smell as much after a night out, and it's
easier to talk to people without yelling over the loud
music.

Fuck that - I can't walk down the street without having to
look at some broken-down booze hounds smoking their stinking
rollies outside a pub.

Plus, now clubs just stink of sweat without the smell of
tobacco to cover it up.

Lincoln has been smokey free for 18 months, its nice seeing
a band and not smelling like smoke poo, the sweat is a part
of the territory if you wanna bounce.

Oh it's quite alright, can't say I blame you for being
optimistic about it. Unfortunately every time the smoke
clears, George Bush finds it in his heart to carpet bomb a
hospital. I mean really, every good party needs a bondfire.

unless you really are talking about a band that played on
july 7th, the ban actually starts from july 1st and is for
england not the whole uk.

It's been banned in Scotland for about a year, I think.

Id be careful about quitting for your girlfriend. 1. people
shouldnt try to change other people... change comes from
within... (or at least, it works better that way) 2.
everytime you want a cig, you will think "no, I better not,
or my girlfriend will get mad" and you are now taking your
frustrations of unfilledness out on her. It might not be
apparent on the surface, but I think its very
possible/likely that youll begin to resent her for keeping
you away from something you want... regardless of the fact
if its better for you.

if you ever do cave, and smoke, then youll feel guilty and
either hide it from her (secrets are bad) or youll have to
own up to her, and most likely make her angry, and then
youll get angry that she is angry over something that is
your life and up to you, in the end.

quit when you want to quit. if she cant handle you smoking
now, then thats her problem... but she shouldnt try to
change you for something that bothers her.

only do it if YOU want to... otherwise, itll be bad... and
if you have to be bribed with a wii, something tells me you
dont want to quit, or you would.

im not saying smoking is good, or that you should smoke, but
Im just warning you of a possible messy dynamic you may put
yourself in.

just my 2 cents

in the U.K. it costs about £5.80 for a pack of 20
cigarettes... which is about $10 U.S.
