after yet another few hours of hopelessly trying to 'get my
groove on' at some or other drum and bass gig (which in
itself was quite alright) i have retreated to my home,
feeling possibly even lonelier than before i went outside
the house, thanks to all those girls of which perhaps 3 or 4
of them were drunk enough to give me a faint smile, before
getting the hell away from me and my spastic movements on
the dancefloor that consisted of large slippery
cobblestones.

expect it unless your a slag like me.

it took a few live d'n'b shows for me to understand that i
really don't like it....glad there isn't too much around
detroit.

drill n bass with some classy/funky sounds, yes ... the
stuff i hear is just, meh ... no thanks.

how do you dance drum n bance? i mean when your dancing with
a girl. i guess the same way you'd dance to any other ype of
music (xcept latin)

Jeroen, tell me you weren't expecting to pull at a D'n'B
gig!? Girls who go to drum and bass for the music will just
be dancing around like dicks, pretty oblivious to much else
around them except other people dancing about like dicks and
the music and the lights. Girls who are there to look pretty
and pull are probably not worth getting to know.
I'm not saying you can't meet a girl at a gig, but like
Jivvycakes said, don't expect it, or even hope for it. Just
carry on dancing like a spastic and enjoy the music!

the only time i went to a drum n bass thing i went with this
really pretty girl i liked in vancouver. to ease my tension
i drank way too much and ended up making an ass outta myself
anyway. even worse, is i think i may have been given the
green light before we ever even got there. but i'll never
know for sure. damned missed opportunities. oh well.

fuckin' girls. pfft.

cheers up man. there'll be plenty opportunities left. just
make sure you'll improve with every one of them.

Yes, its hardly the ideal pulling ground. Those mad
basslines wreck havok with your stomach and if you've eaten
some particularly fibre'ish food before, you're in for an
awesome night of farting.

The beauty of a dancefloor is that as long as you don't
dance in the same place for long, you can keep getting away
with it. Awesome stuff.

hahah :D

i didnt go there expecting to 'pull' (never heard that one)
but that doesnt make it any less frustrating to be
constantly reminded that i'm single (and on my own for that
matter, since two people i expected there didnt show up at
all). and nobody could give a flying toss about having a
chat with me, except my neighbour, whom i sort of forced to
talk to me.

Anyway, the music was really good. They even played ed rush
& optical which i thought was rather hardcore for 'an
evening of soulful drums and breaks'. Even the mc was good.

thanks for the cheering up everyone! Today's a good day.

I'm an awesome dancer and the girls love it. I wouldn't go
to some shit d'n'b night though, all that gormless 170bpm
BOOM BAP BOOOOM BAP shit, where's the love?

The worst thing you can do is try to impress girls. Just go
out and have fun, enjoy yourself and smile. When you're in a
good mood you'll come across much better anyway and who
knows what might happen.

i wasnt trying to impress girls. I was trying to enjoy
myself. I dance to drum&bass because i think it's fantastic
music, no matter how shit i am at dancing to it (it's
difficult).

Regardless, i 'failed' at having a fabulous time, but that's
largely because i didn't know anyone there.

Now that this thread has gotten way out of hand, let's call
it a day. I think i feel a hangover creeping up/down.

for what it's worth: you showed some guts to go out on your
own. lots of people already freak out by the idea. you
didn't...well almost didn't. but you shouldn't.

Was there bass? Did the crowd give thanksk? (etc)

I have pulled at a D&B night, it was LTJ Bukem, but then
again I am a PLAYA. (and it was in NZ where all the girls
are loose as.)

Going out and having a shit night can be depressing. And
expensive.

The girls are loose in New Zealand because most of the males
are bisexual and busy fucking one another.
