If anyone's interested, I've uploaded a dozen new tunes to
my site, upping the mp3s available to about 400MB.
Please pop by, have a listen/download, and if you have the
time, please Digg it.

Thanks!

i like the whole orchestral direction you're going.
what are you using for the string sounds and other acoustic
sounds? I've been searching for a good orchestral pack.

Cheers! anything from Garritan or Vienna seem to sound
really good. They both have tiered sample software, so you
don't have to shell out too much for the basic instruments.
The more you pay, the more articulations you tend to get,
and generally the more realistic the outcome. But I find the
basic stuff works just fine with a bit or reverb and EQ. You
get some decent Vienna stuff with Kontakt these days too.

No Diggs? :'(

Chris, you've done it again. The song Circadies is one of
your best works ever, intrepid drum programming meets
incredible synth-orchestral arranging. I really can not stop
listening to it. I've been a fan since you posted the very
first tracks here, and it's nice to see you keep true to
your musical roots while still displaying ample progression.
I also really enjoyed your live set from Delectronica, the
versions of the old songs REM sleep research and Bipolar
Bears are the best I've heard yet. The simultaneous feeling
of nostalgia and wonder I got from hearing those songs
remixed is something I don't often experience. Thank you so
much for sharing your music with the world, and as soon as
finances permit, I will be donating to the cause.

Wait, was it Bipolar Bears? I thought I remembered hearing
part of it but I think it may have been Low Grav Freefall?
Hmm strange... either way I loved the whole set, including
the new tracks in it that, unless I'm mistaken, aren't up
for download anywhere. Truly a killer live set and I wish I
could have been there.

Thanks very much! Glad to hear you enjoy the live sets too,
as they take a ridiculous amount of work to go back and
export tracks from Cubase for use in Live. I'm not sure if I
used Bipolar Bears, although perhaps I pilfered a beat from
it for the live set somewhere. But I do use some remixes and
compilation track parts in the live sets, in addition to the
usual album and website tracks, so those could be what
you're referring too.

Thanks again mate, I really appreciate the positive
feedback. :)

on a side note, your site itself. how does that work?
is it like a blog mixed with a normal website?
did you get a template you changed to your likings?

Yeah, it's just a WordPress blog, tweaked a little for my
site. I started just using the basic Kubrick theme supplied
with WP, swapped the images and colour scheme for my own,
and edited a few things in the stylesheet. Then added a few
plugins to aid the content management, social bookmarking,
Digg etc.

It's very much cobbled together, but it seems to do the
trick at the moment.
