I really like the first three minutes, definately my favorite orbital track.
I love especially hearing it at the end of mortal kombat, when all those monk kids run out of the temples with the flags...=)

Great track, especially the live version with the samples. When you tell others of the samples it sounds awful but it works well. When I hear it it makes me depressed at how crap they've gone.
Has anyone seen the video for the Box?

Paco - all this time i never it was a sample from another song! I don't know if it ruins all the specialness from halcyon....no wait, it doesn't. That song by opus 3 is awesome also. No song compares to halcyon! Time to watch my mortal kombat dvd...

I only just realised that was where the sample came from- this is an example of good sampling- when you like both the source and sampling track and don't realise for ages and when you do you still really like both tracks :)

ceri - yeah man, very well done.
You know what I was thinking about....with artists getting more and more "experimental" music really isn't what it used to be. Look at this song for example, breautiful, easy to listen to, fun, etc etc. Is that not cool anymore to make pretty songs? I don't understand why we must evolve into "noise" and other stuff of the sorts. If i'm not making sense let me know because I have a good idea in my head but it's hard to put it into words.

best orbital track = box parts 1-4
not part 1, not part 4, parts 1-4; it's a ~25 min track with stuff you don't hear when the songs are split apart.
it's elite cool.

Cool song..(and yeah the sample really does make it...) The original by OPUS III was a big hit here in the UK (think it got to No 1 in the pop charts) but was a little sickly sweet & fluffy for me....
Namewise it really does capture that Halcyon tranquilliser feeling...
I think Chime is probably my favourite song of Orbitals although I haven't heard much beyond the first 2-3 albums...
I did like that Are We Here track; their attempt at some kind of proto-jungle....
