Anyone here calculating for SETI?

I'm asking because their server is down and this sucks! :(

I don't trust that kind of thing. Who knows what they will
let your computer calculate?(atom bombs, etc...) Maybe I'm
too paranoid...

Unplug your computer shortcircuit! You could be an accessory
to some sort of 'something or other' ! ! !

:-)

The program analyzes radio transmissions received at the
arecibo array in new mexico. They're looking for
communications from aliens. Haven't found anyting yet to
the best of my knowledge. I used to run it on my computer
but i lost interest in it and stopped. Seems like a bit of
a waste of money and resources to me. All that data has to
be stored on immense tape drive systems, and they havent
found any trace of anything since it's been running.

i use seti@home.. ive been using it on my two computers for
a couple of years now..
together they have contributed almost 5000 hours of
computing time and have completed 70 'data units'

seti is cool, u should all join! it just runs as a
screensaver, when ur not at ur computer, so u dont have to
worry about it takeing up resources/memory
(btw: u can also let it run all the time in the background
if u want)

also, XLR, they HAVE found little patterns, etc, that could
be messages
but nothing concrete
and the little anomolies they have found seemed definitly
not-natural, but only last for a few seconds
meaning they were probably just flukes

but c'mon, could u imagine a more important thing your
computer could be doing in its spare time!?

(also: it looks really cool, go look at a screenshot! with
all those graphs and numbers.... it'll make ur computer look
really cool!) hehe..
