Good days, I'm sitting on a track/remix wich is at the
mixing stage or almost at mastering stage and I have no idea
what to do next before taking the step to mastering, I tried
to make some folk/classical stuff and I have no idea how to
mix it really, I worked very intensively and I don't really
feel like I have an overveiw on the mix aspect of this
track, someone with fresh ears care to give me their general
thoughts of the mix ?

it's on my zebox page , for download or streaming and I
call it "triumf remix test" at this point.

I was asked by this guy at our local concert hall to make a
remix of his work mates folk song for him to play at their
yearly party, stupid as I am I said yes and made a remix
wich hardly has anything to do with the original and have to
be handed over in three days wich leaves me little time to
mix and master this..

My main consern at the moment is: does the drums need more
"high" or are they clean enough ? (I did allot of
high-cutting today as I found it a bit too sharp but can't
help feeling that my ears and headphones are fooling me.)
I welcome critisism on all aspects of the mix though, I feel
that it's quite far from done while at the same time I'm not
sure what to change..

All thoughts appreciated

It sounds like it's a bit empty most of the time.. you
should do something to fill in the space more. I also don't
like the instrumentation: synthed orchestra.

The drums are fine.

that's a bit suprising, to me it sounds too "full" like it
needs to be eq'd and made more "open" haha, perhaps I should
invest in few hours break and go back to it with rested ears
even if I feel a bit stressed..

Synthed orchestra, yeah, not much to do about that now,
totally understand if that's not your cup of tea, or most
peoples for that matter, thanks allot for taking the time to
listen though

i digs it but I am not sure what is your contribution to
it..did you compose? or just program drums and remix....
to me drums sound about right...they neednt intrude on the
other instruments....

Yeah I composed the whole thing, the only part of this track
that is from the original song is the first four flute
tones, so it's pretty much a completely new track and it's
pretty much my own so to speak, wonder if the guy who asked
me to do this "remix" will like it.. I think he expected a
techno mix of sort haha.

Very EMOtional. Mmm...one of the most "emotional" pieces
I've heard by a member on XLTRONIC. I like it. A ton.

Thanks for listening sir, can't way to hear some new
polychromatic.

I have now finished this track, in other words fixed a
couple of small things in the mix aswell as mastered it and
I'm quite pleased with the sound, tested it on several
different speakers and headphones at the mastering stage and
I belive it sounds good.

The finished version has now replaced the old version on
zeboxxx.
