Yeah, I saw the tracklisting and it looks superb. I've not
heard the actual mix yet mind, but it will be part of my
next rooted records order.

Vol. 3 is my favourite so far. I had that in my alarm clock
CD player for well over a month.

I feel as if I've heard those spaceape lyrics too much. A
bit too re-used for me. I guess it depends which came first,
their album or this mix.

I know what you mean about the vocal reuse. I heard vol 3.
before the album so it's more annoying on the album for me,
although as you say, it depends where you heard them first.

Long time no see, me old mate!

I take it that as an old DnB-head, you like this new fangled
dubstep?

offline diablo on 2007-05-15 03:36 [#02083966]

Yeah been into it for a while, tho I admit I was a bit
skeptical at first it really grows on you. There's more
space in the music which is lacking in a lot of modern D&B.
And loads of stupidly loud bass obvs.

I still lurk on here sometimes and pick up mp3 links and
stuff. I see phob is going on a kill crazy rampage. ha...

I was the same, I didn't really like most of it I heard, but
then after I found a few tracks I really liked, I went back
to the other stuff and that has grown on me too.

Yeah, having a board crackdown at the mo'.

You guys, quick, does anyone have an attic I can hide in?
They're about to knock on my door and I'm not wearing my
star.

Hmm not sure that analogy works exactly...

I still think D&B has legs though, I saw grooverider at
fabric a few weeks ago and it was wicked.

Just spotted this, "24. Kromestar – Kalawanji 2"

Good lord, is there a full version of this track out yet, or
is it just doing the rounds on dubs at the moment?

That's a silly number of tracks for a comp hehe. Couldn't
they round it up to 40???

I am ravenously downloading these. I listened to three, and
found the lyrics annoying (deleted off my ipod without even
being able to listen to one song, stays on my hard drive
because I am a completest). Four is crazy.

I would say this release is a bit weaker than the third one.

Yes, I don't really play it anywhere near as much as 3. Some
good tracks on there certainly, but just as you're getting
into it, it leaps to something else (which considering the
long builds in dubsteps sort of defeats the point). I also
don't really like the whole "scary/sinister" atmosphere a
lot of the tracks are trying to achieve as it comes out a
bit corny and cheap.

Exactly, most of the tracks are around 2 minutes long, its
just not doing it for me.
