i was wondering if there is anyone on here sequencing with
logic, cus i have a problem with something, iv been lent a
novation supernova, but i cant get it to work in logic.
anyone know about using hardware synths in logic?? thanks

(im using a macbook pro)
(edirol-fa-101 audio interface)

i know this isnt a musicians forum, but im not getting much
in other forums, so i thought i would take a shot in the
dark in here. tanks

Are you trying to record the novation or use it as a midi
controller?

I am trying to use it as midi, with the matrix editor, im
used to using software synths, so wht i want to know is how
do i tell logic i am using the supernova? do i have to
create it as a new device or something?

Every device ive used with logic has been picked up
automatically (providing its all plugged in before you load
it up) but every one ive used has been straight USB (the
supernova is standard midi right?). Is there no response on
the right hand side of your transport bar when you start
mashing the keys? I dont have Logic here unfortunately so I
cant even look around the program. I know youve probably
already been there but logic pro help is a great source of
answers.

you could probably have a look at the midi preferences
(Audio MIDI Setup in Applications/Utilities), maybe add it
as an interface there. I havent done much hooking up of
synths and stuff, but usually the controllers and other midi
things pop where they should.

maybe the supernova needs a driver or something? about me i
dunno

hey, I'm not saying you're wrong. It just made me laugh
because I think of this place as a music/musician's forum,
first and foremost, even though it hasn't been for quite
some time (possibly ever).

wow that supernova belonged to a dead man and i took it from
him, how awful lol i can't go into the whole story behind
it, but there was some arguments about who should have it. i
did have it for about 2 weeks, then i had to give it back.
dead mans synth

so there really is a ghost involved in this
