Ho there - is it a simple procedure to connect a Laptop to
a Television? A friend mentioned that just a single cable is
required - is this the case?

Output to a TV - so, for instance, play a DVD or a game on
my laptop and have the sound & vision on the television
screen.

If you have an S-Video port or something similar you only
need one cable. If you only have a VGA (computer screen)
port, you'll need some kind of converter.

Looks like it could be (or something very similar for the
UK) - pleased to see that it's cheap too :]

Yeah, I'm going to see if I do - I have an HP Compaq nx6325
and it's 6 months old so it'll probably have one - will it
be listed in the Systems section?

when connecting an hp laptop to a television, I know the
S-video port will only be for video, not for sound. i want
to be able to use my laptop to play DVD's and watch & listen
through my television. How do I connect the laptop to the
rca input jacks on the television for sound. Thanks for your
help. MikeLAZY_TITLE

Would I use a single cable out of the headphone jack split
into two RCA ends for input into the TV?

...although, if there's an 'aux out' or 'speaker out' maybe
use that, but that's a minor issue.
