its hard to believe but yes supposedly he will be
portraying the legendary rockstar mercury in a biographical
film. i'm a bit skeptical given theres nothing on idmb. that
being said if he does do this i think he can pull it off,
given how versatile he is in changing characters. i also
think its good timing on his part you dont want to just make
comedies cause thats all you get stuck doin...

i am positive that he will be very good in the part

i hope it wont be the usual pampering biopic though.

I'm sure a biopic of the flamboyant showman lead singer of
Queen, that will also entail dramatic interpretations of
Brian May (Anita Dobson?) and Rock's most unremitting cretin
Roger Taylor (Freddy Starr?) and the other one, will in no
way be a comedy.

the 'other one' wrote one of the best basslines in history
which is more than probably all of us combined will do in
our lifetimes.

On August 25, 2006, an organization calling itself the
Islamic Mobilization and Propagation, or UAMSHO, petitioned
the Zanzibar government's culture ministry, demanding that a
large-scale celebration of what would have been Freddie
Mercury's sixtieth birthday be cancelled.

UAMSHO issued several complaints about the planned
celebrations, including that Mercury was neither a Muslim
nor a true Zanzibari and that he lived a homosexual
lifestyle not in accordance with the laws of Islam. The
organization claimed that "associating Mercury with Zanzibar
degrades our island as a place of Islam."[37] The planned
celebration was cancelled.

what a world

I predict this film starring a Jew playing a gay western
singer will be the movie of the year in Zanzibar.

I think it's good because a celebration of Freddy Mercury
would have overshadowed the 8065th anniversary of the
stoning to death of Al-Abhama, the first man to openly
acknowledge the shadow.

And here is barack al-abhama as a child, in between
whippings and sodomizings.

It is a pretty big leap for Sacha, but i think he will
impress me again whith his talents. That man seems to have
no fears whatsoever.
