I'm going over to Detroit for the festival this year... was wondering if anyone from here was also going. I've gone every year since it started.. and as much as I haven't *REALLY* enjoyed it every year... I generally have a good time. The past couple of years I've tried to bring something interesting along to share and pass out for free... 2 years ago it was a CD of a mix I did .... last year I handed out a magazine... The plan is to . So what say you guys? anyone local and want to meetup for a laugh and a joke? |

in detroit.... everybody is... So staz. you're point is moot. :-D But for a good time, Coney Island downtown at 3 or 4am is a sight to be seen on any fun weekend. The food is horrid.. but drunk... it suddenly makes sense. |

a couple of years ago.. 3 maybe? still it's a deal of an event considering events in europe cost WAY more for something of the same "type" of event. |

last year was the first year they charged, it almost never happened due to security/ppl/etc not getting paid from the previous years...so paxahau (local show promoters here in detroit) took it over ... it was a little sketchy last year, but they pulled it off (great too, considering it was a HUGE pill to swallow, especially on such short notice). this year it looks like they've got a great lineup (sadly, not much idm)...and have had time to do proper planning etc ... should be the blast! the only bad thing about charging, is now they have to fence in/out the people into Hart plaza....which means no more backpacks, no more sneaking in water or alcohol, etc ... so it's kinda slag on that point. the afterparties are the best part about demf, by far |

I'm trying to get Nokia to send me a new N95 phone to run around and record video blog / podcast episodes from the event. Hopefully they'll "get the idea" and send me a phone. |

i was gonna go but i dunno this year i havent heard of any after parties i want to go to and i never really step foot in the festival except last year when i bumped into otto and he gave me a guest pass |
