That's another great one. I tended to like the ones toward
the bottom more when downloading them, the ones that evolve
in sudden jumps from simpler structures to hyper agitated
percussion structures. I probably would've just put them all
on but they took forever to download, so I put *almost* all
on cd, like all but about 5 probably. They're in
alphabetical order since that's how they happened to be
organized... I don't know which are which yet (havn't
associated titles with songs yet), but it plays through
wonderfully, (I only listened through it 1ce so far but
havn't heard the last 3 or so tracks yet on the cd I made).
I love the way this new one evolves, sorta like the
beginning percussion in the last track on chichlisuite ...
at about 3:50 this song was all building up but didn't
*ignite* quite as much as, say, amb1 and quite a few others
you made.

yeah...im working up to doing a really insane track again
soon...pupl fiction samples and everything...

its interesting you like my older tracks better...the first
song i did and uploaded to mp3.com is very similar to what
youre usually talking about...i started off with one
beat...added/edited every 5 measures..and then half way
through the song, started going backwards..so it ended the
way it started..
its not very good imo...but it reminded me of what you were
talking about in that lipswitch thread

m: check this out for some of my really old school stuff...
http://www.mp3.com/way0ut
'streetlight' was the first track i uploaded ever...a little
over a year ago

actually...the track 'qnimbus' i did sometime early last
summer isnt really that bad..compared to my other early
stuff...

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-18 06:44 [#00129670]
Points: 21423 Status: Regular

hmm... streetlight was interesting, the way it was created,
building up then down. It does sound like a bit more of a
novice attempt, but interesting nonetheless. Evolving stuff
is interesting to me, it has to do with animation sort of...
like in animation one frame is slightly different from the
next, if you look at the whole set of frames, it presents
the illusion of a moving living thing... sorta the same
possibilities with music, slight changes through time making
it seem like it's changing or sculpting in some way or
something.

I like qnimbus... your early stuff often organizes volume as
well as sound... volume can be a really interesting medium
like in this song. I often forget about working with volume.

offline wayout from the street of crocodiles on 2002-03-18 06:52 [#00129677]
Points: 2849 Status: Lurker

its weird...i dont pay too much attention to volume
either...i guess i do make some sounds quieter...just so it
goes better with everything else..
i probably pay more attention to it now then i did then
though..

offline w M w from London (United Kingdom) on 2002-03-18 06:58 [#00129683]

dimdisquiet was more of a bizarre cerebral song. I probably
wouldn't listen to it very often if I had it on cd, but it
was interesting, I liked how everything stopped for the
percussion every once in awhile.

offline wayout from the street of crocodiles on 2002-03-18 07:00 [#00129684]

heh...yeah that one was weird...
that was from back when i used whale and theremin samples
for everything...
