melodies from mars, et al

Hello everybody! now i know that its bad etiquette to make
your first message a request... but im not a smalltalk kinda
guy. so here it is :)
ive been trying to get hold of the somewhat elusive melodies
from mars album, and due to the fact it was only released in
very limited amounts ive had no luck by any of the more
common routes. it must be out there somewhere though- theres
samples of it on this site.
im also after caustic window and a.b.5 but im probably being
awfully cheeky so ill stop now :)
if anyone can direct me (or simply inform me that theyre
crap and not worth getting) to these albums i'd be oh so
grateful, and the universe will bestow positive karmic
payback upon you! so there!
thanksalot - tom

well, i ordered the caustic window compilation from a store,
so that was easy. Melodies from mars and ab 5 i believe are
both unreleased, and the only way you will hear those is
through the web, but i got no suggestions for that...

allthatglitters:
1st of all, welcome to the messageboard!
im sure u will enjoy it..

now, about melodies from mars....
..try getting it off of soulseek, or a similar program
(btw: soulseek seems to be the best, by far, for this type
of music, so u should get the program for sure if u dont
have it already)
now i haven't actually searched for it before.. so i dotn
know if its on there, but its worth a try for sure, and ull
like soulseek for sure even if u dont find M from M on it
caustic window should be on there for sure

now, time for ur half of the deal: bestow positive karmic
payback opon me!
MUHAHAHHAAAA!!!!!

And all in the time it took to cook and eat one spaghetti
bolognaise! thanks for the advise aminal. ill give it a
looksy. positive karmic payback? we got a lot of them in at
the moment. you were going to be ingested by a large
antelope tommorow, but ill see what i can do :)
and seeing as youve been so accomodating, just for you
d-hex, tonight and tonight only, i shall be 'crack-santa'.
unfortunately i cannot offer anyone a round of hoes, so
youll just have to jerk off over the windowlicker video for
the 146th time :p seeya in therapy!!!
thanks everyone!

I personally don't like much of what I've heard off of
melodies from mars, other than track 4 which I like alot

Lots of it does sound like it was ment to be music for a
video game

yeah...i didnt really like mfm at first either...but i
downloaded it again recently and its actually quite nice...a
lot simpler than what he ususally does of course...and kinda
cheesy at times...but in a way only aphex can pull off
successfully...
i am glad that he chose the rdj album as the follow to icbyd
over this one though...

Definetly, I mean, sure it was a good effort, but it falls
so short to the rdj album, It definetly was the right
decision

ok... so it appears that enough people like this album that
its worth my effort to download it. can any of you chaps
above me tell me where you got yours from?
incidentally, some fantastic dude by the name of tango (from
this board apparently) has offered to mail me the cds, so if
all else fails ill face the music and... tango! (almost
works).
but that means shifting arse and envelopes and cds and
assorted paraphernalia, so anyone with an ftp?? (fawns) :p
cheers!

mfm, ab5, etc...

myself... hee hee hee. how devious. illicit copies of an
album... hee hee hee. btw, I like it lots... it is a
different side of Aphex.

I'm listening to it a little more now... I'm diggin track 9,
I like the deep synth that comes in 40 seconds in, then the
organs in the background, smooth track

I wonder what the caustic window album's like, Micheal
Paredinas' description of it makes it sound pretty good....

i had some luck today with it, got a couple of tracks. is it
me or is there some odd timing malarky (sounds like
skipping, perhaps not deliberately) in definately the first
few bars, possibly the rest. i cant listen now, i must go to
bed!

ahhhhh, yes. i know exactly what you guys are going through
right now, i burned MFM of off napster during it's frist
beta (oooooooooh aaaaaaaaah). As for track ten, i asked the
guy, and he said that it's unfinished. Even though i don't
believe him, he did have EVERY cd listed on this site at the
time, (which was up to Analouge bublebath 5). And tahnks
again Phobiazero, for this bad ass site, i used it o'plenty
for checking tracklisting and track times for my bootleging
plesure, hehe...
