DVI to HDMI Cable

So I just got a new laptop, and it doesn't have any
external VGA connections, just a DVI. I want to be able to
hook it up to my TV like my other notebook, so I need a
cable.

Why do cables in stores around here cost $80+, while I can
get one on Ebay for $10 or so? Is there actually any
difference between these besides that the ones in the stores
are made by Monster and AR? I suspect not, considering the
signal is all digital, but does anyone have any experience?

stores have 3000% markup on cables. that's how they make
money.

absolutely no difference in signal quality. with digital,
it's either there or it's not.

I thought that would be the case, but I wanted someone to
confirm. And it's not like I need a lot of shielding, as
I'll be running it all of 3 feet. Thanks.

DVI/HDMI are digital cables, and do not require as much
shielding as analogue cables (VGA) do.

isn't it possible to get corrupted data if you've got really
really bad shielding and you're living in cable hell?
