Some battered to fuck, cheap (so cheap that there's no brand
on them), old speakers that have several cones at odd angles
(chavtastic) that I got in a local pawn shop for the heady
price of £8.

Incredibly, they actually sound very good. Probably because
they are driven by one of these little beauties:

The HX-Z1 system comes with two
mirror-image 3-way,
4-driver ported speakers. Each speaker uses a 2" paper cone
tweeter, two
3-15/16" poly cone woofers, and a side-firing 6-5/16" paper
cone subwoofer
with a 4-layer voice coil and a rubber surround. Each
speaker is bi-amplified
(with 130 watts for the subwoofer, plus 55 watts for the

Weight: Each speaker weighs
16.8 pounds.
Inputs
and Outputs Notes

Headphone Output: The
HX-Z1 features a front panel stereo mini-jack headphone
output. When headphones
are plugged in, the speaker outputs are muted.
Optical Digital Output: You can
send digital audio signals from the CD player to a digital
recording device such
as a CD recorder or Minidisc recorder by using the optical
digital output.

Auxiliary Input: There is an
analog stereo RCA input on the rear panel, allowing you to
add audio from an
external source such as a VCR, TV or Minidisc player.

They normally live in my studio for testing how tracks will
sound on a big system, I just set them up on my xbox that
day as a one off. Burnout Revenge sounds incredible on it.
It actually sounds like real engine noise and the crashes
sound like proper rending metal and shattering glass.

actually, the speakers look like skulls. the ports above
the tweeter are the eyes, the cone right there in the middle
a nose, and the bottom speaker is the mouth... at least
that's what i saw when i first got em. i was just sitting
right in front of it listening to 51/13 & 26m4$ taking bong
rips all night and that's what i always see in everything i
look at anyways after snappin bowls n shit. ya know?
skulls. maybe you have to be stoned and listening to those
albums to get the proper effect.

B123: you probably were 15 when i bought em
