Zappa was an American. Doesn't that contradict your hate for
all things American, Redrum?

Im 31. Its not where you are, its where you are in your
head. Its true, though. You look at kids in their early 20's
and they start to have baby faces. Its a beautiful thing
really. Your age is the normal age and people are either
older or younger relative to you. I think the best years are
your 30's. 20's were too angst ridden.

So is Chomsky. And Hunter S Thompson. And Elliott Smith. And
Al di Meola. And so on and so on.

I don't hate all things American, and I don't hate all
Americans. We've been through this before.

I'll turn 30 next year, but since I was 24 I started to pay
my house loan, moved to live by my own, bought a car, got a
job, pay for my bills and food... kinda too early... So, I
expect not too much change next year.
Anyway, don't worry, enjoy where you're at, because you'll
never be there again!

Life ends when you realise you can't fuck school girls
anymore

im 28, and very much at peace with myself and the world now,
but that is something that has come from both experience and
acceptance.

i dont regret having gone off the rails in my early 20s
anymore. those experiences have actually equipped me with
better understanding.

when i do turn 30 im planning to be a student again. its
great to realise that you can keep trying different things,
and theres no reason to stay in a rut!

Three zero...I don't have to worry about until 2014.

I'm pretty optimistic about it though. I'm sure one can
still be in good physical shape and be youthful by this age.
It ultimately depends on attitude and lifestyle.

I'll turn 30 in about 7 weeks and I don't expect anything to
change except for 2 digits.

when i was 20 i would never have cooked a roast dinner just
for one, booked myself into dancing lessons, or appreciated
a weekend night at home.

one the negative side i now have to worry about my weight, i
can feel my metabolism grinding to a halt.

it might just be the way im cooking though.

tony bourdain said in the cookbook i used tonight:

'chicken is not a medium for sauce. chicken should taste
like chicken'

he goes on to instruct you to stuff the skin with herb
butter, rub it all over with heaps of salt and pepper, fill
the cavity with lemon, onion, rosemary and thyme, then roast
the whole thing in white wine.

it was sensational.
