I just bought an M-Audio Fast Track Pro for my new Vaio. For some reason, I thought M-Audio MIGHT have been tipped off about the commercial release of Microsoft's new OS a few months ago. REDICULOUS right! Do I send this bullshit back? or Wait for the release of the drivers? What (external) soundcards ARE ready for Vista? |

Wasn't vista supposed to be a bitch to work with anything even remotely creative on? Like it did lots of weird stuff to audio and video quality to reduce the threat of piracy? Some article fleetmouse linked? Was it just bullshit? I don't know, but I won't be getting vista any time soon. |

I just love how M$ spends tons of money trying to market a product thats more or less still in beta stage. I'm sticking with XP until all the vista nonsense is sorted..that should be at least another 12 years or so. |

This month's Music Tech reckon it's alright (although they recommend you get the 'Ultimate' version of Vista). Their general advice though was "hang on a bit" till the driver support caught up. The don't really seem to offer any real reason for musicians to upgrade to it over XP, so personally I'd stick with XP for the forseeable future. |
