Help on a document-program appreciated!

I don't have the program Word on my computer.

And neither richtext nor wordpad has the ability/function to
"apply" pictures/images to them.

That is, when I copy an internet site (either by ctrl + A,
or mark everything with the mouse) it doesn't copy the
pictures, as well.*

It's just the text, and weird little squiggly symbols with
the stuff the program doesn't comprehend (of the copied
site).

Are there any freeware-programs, or
licenced-but-no-payment-programs that functions like Word,
has the usual writing-program-stuff and all, but allows me
to copy images, as well?

Thank you for your time.

instead of word you want openoffice

for saving pictures you have to right click on the picture
and 'save as'
for saving websites you need to go to file and then choose
save as complete website

the saving of pictures from the internet has nothing to do
with your text editor. these things are unrelated.

Hi, big, thanks for the help.

However when I choose the "save as complete
website"-function an error-message pops up, and basically
says that I cannot save the page. Translated from swedish it
says something in the lines of:
"An error occured when the site was supposed to save.

It couldn't save the website on the designated spot/place."

How does openoffice work? Where can I find it?

Thanks.

Might add that when I copy the image, or try to add it via
wordpad, all I get is stuff like this:

"ëó1·ük€¤¼‡݁àaøœ2-NlÆ0:²9õ6'¸=ê?¯
¾ ßÍôWûp", etc ...

I'll admit, I'm quite worthless when it comes to the more
'advanced' stuff with computers.

http://www.openoffice.org/

you'd best provide a link to the page with the pic you want
to save

just to elaborate, openoffice is a complete open source
alternative to microsoft office, with a word processor,
spreadsheet program, power point-style program, email, and
more.

quite excellent.

if youre on mac, get neooffice, which is an osx port of open
office.

I think we really are confusing

I'd like an offline copy of a web page

with

I'd like an e-business document creation solution.

sounds like an e-business document creation solution to me.

unless of course you were replying to roygbiv with that
post, in which case you should use follow up more often
because noone does!

I wasn't, I strictly abide by the "follow up" unless I am
addressing each and every fucking one of you.

To everyone who took the time: thanks.

1. yeah, why not, but I don't trust the internet. It has
'stolen' a couple of 'my' sites ("this site is not
available"), to never give it back, and a back-up-copy is
less likely to one day disappear.

2. I may read it whenever I want, I don't have to worry
about "1.", and whereas a couple of sites require focus and
attention, the buzz of internet is guaranteed to not give me
the time I need.

I'm not sure about the "e-business document creation
solution", but merely saving the text of a site is not
enough, as these sites has a few images that is as much part
of the site as the text, or whatever.

and 3. all this sound much more complicated than it is, I'm
sure.

Any way, thanks.
