was Aphex Twin predicting the current iPod-iTunes craze
with this short ditty?

Rich was originally going to call the track "e", and even
the original layout for the sleeve had "e" in the
tracklisting. As soon as I found out I rang him up and said
"Dicky, no mate, this is all wrong, you want to go up one in
the vowel stakes, keep pushing this shit further". He was
hesitant at first, "Come on Dan, it's like Drugs innit
(which I'll call my millennial album), an 'E' you know, like
dropping Ecstacy". I said "Rich, Rich... the days of Rave
are already in their Twilight, you want to make a career in
this music thing, you gotta progress, go forward, call it
"i" mate, you know it makes sense".

After a lot of umming and ahhing, and frankly being an
awkward shit about it, he did and the rest is history.

That's funny. The way he told it to me was the direct
opposite of your version. But you know how it is. It's not
that he's going to be honest and open about it. At least,
that's not what one would expect him to do.

I don't know, but the way you laugh about it suddenly makes
it so real. It must be true than. Finally the truth over
this pressing matter has been revealed! And it totally
explains the title too....wow
