The video's very nice indeed, I'm not 100% about the Orlando
Voorn mix though, it's not a patch on the atmospheric John
Carpenter-esque original, which is "one of the best things
the Black Dog have ever done". Possibly the mix on its own
would sound great, but I suppose me comparing it to the
"original" is affecting my hearing. I think the remix could
have contained more of the source material to make a real
monster.

From the samples the "Alt/Return/Dash/Kill" sounds like it's
got some of the original in it, which is a bonus, and then
"Machina Machina"... hmmm, again the original is far more
effective at only one and a half minutes long. Still, I'd
have to hear the whole tracks and not just samples. But,
based on these, they've all seem to taken "the atmosphere"
out of tBd which is ... one of the main things that makes
them great.

Actually, the original track played over that video is
absolutely stunning and works incredibly well.

I like it. The video reminds me of the old FSOL vids from
the 90s, albeit technically better as you would expect. The
remix worked well too, though like dog_belch, it is pretty
difficult to beat the original :)

Good werk.

Thanks for the kind words, really nice to know that you like
the originals. We are big fans of Orlando's work, so we love
his version - the bass on 12" version is wonderful.
Derailleur is a fantastic new artist, his releases on Varial
and Dust are pretty special and it's important to support
new artists and he certainly went to town on his remix.
Vector Lovers did about 8 different versions, Martin's a
great artist and talented producer, the full version is ace
:)

The main thing with our remix 12"s is to give DJ's something
of ours people can dance to in a club and to let the artist
do what they wish with our tracks. Thanks for the feedback
guys.

i don't know the original, but that orlando mix sounds
really good! it's good to hear that techno-dinosaur is
still making tunes.
and the clip helps as well. great stuff.
