I can't be bothered to think, but let me congratualte you on taking the wisest course of action which is asking "Where's good to visit in the UK?" on this messageboard. What a lucky lady you've got.

fair point in your sarcasm, but i thought that perhaps someone might come up with something better than "go visit edinburgh castle" or "the lake district"
people here might actually have some inspirational experiences that i wouldn't find on google

avoid at all costs
places that are a) pretty and b) geologically interesting:
isle of Arran (ayrshire, scotland) Lulworth Cove etc (dorset, england) and my pretty little home market-town, ross-on-wye (herefordshire, england)

whoops. avoid birmingham at all costs, not the list below that. also the pembrokeshire coast (wales) is quite pretty in a similar fashion.

go to the isle of wight. it's a pretty little island with beaches and stuff. most places in the uk are pretty dreary, i'm sorry to say but they have an uglified charm as a result of the age and that. i found the highlands of scotland to be quite magical. go up there, sleep late and see the lochs.

Been to London recently? Dine her, Take her to a few shows in the evening, Do the various galleries and museums in the day. Prepare to pay through the nose for it though.
I travel all over the UK for my job and have seen most of it first hand. I'm sorry to say that unless you like music gigs, theatre, or outdoor pursuits, there's not really a lot to "do" in most of the country. Quite a number of fair sized towns have absolutely nothing to do for entertainment, other than a cinema/pub.
BTW Where were you planning on going? Whilst it's less smooth (and expect the spanish inquisition at every border) I believe it's possible to travel around the EU without your passport. Exxallion didn't bring his when he came to the UK a few years back.

I don't know if it'd interest you as you said you weren't into the lake district/similar, but if you are open to trying outdoor pursuits and fancy coming over to sunny Wales (cheap and it's only a 2 hour blat down the m4 from you), there are plenty of good activity centres. You can do clay pidgeon shooting, kayaking, rock climbing, etc. my gf isn't usually in to that sort of thing, but she enjoyed it when we've done it. A lot of the places have accomodation built in (you stay in a hostel-like building as part of it).
Cheaper mid week too.
