Anyone have any experience with good sounding brass
samples?

Cheers

maybe arturia brass ? it's a vst but after laying a few
effects on it it sounds quite real.

of course you would have to hide them in the mix.

What do you need them for? My mate will have what you need
I think.

can't just take a bit from some music, gate it, and fuck
with it?

I'm knocking up a little track for my wife for her birthday
(cheesy me!). I'm trying to make it sound like an acoustic
jazz ensemble, and all the brass sounds I have are awful.
The percussion and bass don't sound to bad, but I'd love a
good sounding tumpet.

Can you make a midi file of it? Or do a mix of it all and
I'll play it to him. He does this type of thing for a
living but a solo jazz trumpet is going to be tricky.

Oh wow.......... that's a very kind offer.

To tell you the truth I don't feel my efforts at making
music warrant the services of someone with real talent. I
hope that makes sense. I am, however, very grateful for your
offer of assistance.

Don't be silly! He'd bore the tits off you given half the
chance talking about "C trumpets and B trumpets'. Get him
back before he gets you! I understand if it's a personal
thing and you don't want a big fuss. You helped make my
staircase a kid safe zone and I owe you one.

Ha!

Ok, well, thats very kind of you. Can you give me a week or
so to get the thing finished to some degree? Then I'll send
you a mix.

Again, many thanks.

I know this may be a few minutes late, buthere is a fantastic archive of
samples recorded at a university by music professors and the
likes. Every single note recorded on various instruments
kind of thing.

The only drawback, is each sample needs to be downloaded.
The solution is here and it requires firefox.

Have fun. :)
