nin is beating a dead horse

i used to be a very big fan...
i think with teeth was definetly the beginning of the end,
the musical death, this year zero are just the nails in the
coffin - oh god i cant believe some of the tracks i have
been hearing. what happened it used to actually be good.

you could just post this in the year zero thread

anyway, ok

i would rather have an entire thread devoted to how much nin
is sucking, versus adding to the year zero thread.

If you looked at the graph displaying the quality of all
music in time you would have expected this.

I've always disliked nin. Theres absolutely nothing I enjoy
about it, whether it be the recent or early stuff. It just
sucks.

i am sure there is a mathematical theorem that can prove
that, but its if copernicus had come in and said "the earth
is not the center of the universe" it was too extreme to be
taken as the truth.

i just think the gothic/emo sentiment has no relevance
anymore. again this is reflective of personal change, but
the world is so much bigger than the negative sentiment of
an individual.

he should write songs for people like johnny cash was and
stop recording his own music.

he could write songs for all of the new emo/goth pop trash
thats out there now, sort of like a new "man-in-black" like
a cash for the 2000's, good call.

all jokes aside, i will not be getting this release.

It's probably just hard to write angsty music honestly when
you have the ability to own your own jet/mansion/etc.

trent reznor uses synthemasizers. the music has electronic
elements. anyway, re the thread: i stopped buying after the
fragile. which has its moments.

I agree... there was a time when he was awesome. still a
good time, but it's just not the same as it use to be....
then again, I'm not a college kid kicking in doors and

Dressing in black, putting bits of metal through your face,
listening to people shout over watered down Front 242
ripoffs, etc, etc,
It is a bit naff, isn't it?

but beaten to almost nothing.....

thats' so ultimately EMO and GOTH.

you guys validate the existence and need of NIN and bands
like it to last forever. NIN is dead... long live NIN

Goth kids listen to him. I bet he reads Nietsche thats what
I get out of his lyrics for the most part. .

BTW. Burial and Clark are EMO I just found out. their music
is Emotional. so they too are EMO (by idiodic standards.
EMObands are the bands that sing about highschool shit even
tho the band itself is in the mid 20s - early 30's... the
songs about girlfriends cheating hearts being crushed and
most often the singer sounds like a whining bitch.)

i don't see a link between goth and nin.

the new material is really good and i'm looking forward to
the new album, with teeth wasn't maybe his best work but it
was certainly a lot better than a lot of the other shit
bands that came out.

the interesting part about with teeth was that it was his
first album while he wasnt fucked on heroin.

so i think it was his "sober"ness that made it seem ODD.
I'm curious to see what he does now that he's now that he
has gotten past his moment of clarity.

i dont know, this to me is sounding loads better than with
teeth, certainly not as good as his earlier stuff, but still
pretty good, I like the concept and how he's moved away from
his personal angst.
