came across these guys. the stuff of theirs that ive heard
is similar to more ambient/drone tracks by ae etc. but they
hail from the dark metal genre.
interesting stuff though. fuck knows how you pronounce their
name

doesn't sound anything like AE, in my opinion. it's quite
good, though. i didn't particularly dig their live show, but
whatever. people seem to eat that stuff up anyway.

They're great, but I dunno where you got the AE connection
from. It's drone/doom metal.

You just pronounce their name "sunn" (named after the
amplifiers Earth used).

yeah, youre right. i was thinking of vletrmx21 but its
hardly like them actually.
nevertheless its good stuff, as long as you are in the right
mood i suppose.

i like the sunn...when i saw them their live set was
excellent. their album black one is truly metal..., I just
got that steven o'malley/pita "KTL" album, sounds pretty
mint on first listen. anyone checked the first OM album? its
fucking amazing

Where did you see them live? My mate told me he saw them
play in the cockpit in leeds a few months ago and enjoyed it
very much.

As soon as they play anywhere local in England again, i'll
be there.

yeh i saw them in leeds, at the basement...was pretty ruff,
a guy at the back doing processing on laptop, 2 guitar 2
bass i think...they were hooded up like druids and had a
slowed down film of the sun setting projected behind...

date.

but it does seem to be available from the southern lord
website. which is excellent, because now i can buy it.

when i saw them they played with oren ambarchi. he also
opened for them by himself.

and some guy from boris "sang" with them

and there were some other people too

the whole experience damaged my hearing slightly and i
haven't had too much of an urge to listen to them since, but
black one is quite fantastic.
