so long as we are apropos good music (oh wait...):
i don't really have the energy to try and sell this feller right presently.
but Cotonou is one of the best albums i've heard this decade i an' i reckon'.
really great fusion of traditional african folk musics with more modern playful stuff. this is the real deal. if nothing more it's worth it for the swimmy multitracked mbiras on the title track.
basically you are a swine if you don't at least try to give it a try.
buying/downloading it both proved to be difficult tasks at first. but maybe you will have better luck than i did.

oh i should mention that the tracklisting on AMG seems to be fucked right now. there are more than two songs. i feel like that page hasn't had that problem in the past, so maybe my browser is being screwy right now?

it's beautiful! at first the made up language bothered me, but now it goes with the flow..really really nice album. thanks for mentioning this.
i like that coastal album as well, but nothing near as much as this one.

I like the release but I can't stand the made-up language....speak english for chrissakes!
just kidding...i do find that very gimmicky though, whats so great about gibberish that everybody's so into these days? what would be better is if he sang in a real language and told everyone it was gibberish and then only people who spoke the language would be in on the joke...hmmm

i honestly never think about it. if it was gonna be something, it would probably be french... possibly some sort of african hybrid that i wouldn't be able understand very well.
i think rhythmically it's very nice, and that's enough for me.
