i always seem to "forget" about this track then come across
it randomly ; even though it's probably one of my fav+ boc
tracks.

did maxima ever get a proper release?

it's now official for me that boc sold out. the final straw
came yesterday at work. i work in a casino and we have the
usual pop crap playing in the background. yesterday i heard
dayvan cowboy playing, i couldn't quite believe it so went
in to the office to look at the cd cases....and there it
was, on some shitty ministry of sound chill out compilation.
goodbye forever boc, go join orbital and the orb and the
other sold out 'we're no good anymore' artists.

Yeah because everything that becomes slightly popular
automatically becomes shit.

God I hate elitist cunts like you.

yeah, red moss is brilliant. there are moments when they
drift away from their usual sound, that i'd like to hear
more of.
boc maxima is ace. i love really getting into boc and
enjoying the short amount of music that doesnt show up on
their albums.

no, it becomes shit when the last album was shit.

i look forward to the next album as much as anyone, i love
boards, i've seen them live twice, i own an original twoism
etc etc. but the last album sounded watered down for the
masses. i hope they turn it around, but i can see them going
the same way as ppl like moby and orbital.

i wrote a really long winded and researched reply about how
shitty it was to call someone a sell out for (shock horror)
trying to make some money from their music but then i
realised it was pointless.

Heh I've been playing Red Moss a lot recently...

Does anyone have a proper copy of boc maxima? Without the
distortion and such... Maybe after all this time somebody
(Joyrex?) is willing to finally make a lossless rip and
torrent it somewhere?

I have a 320kbps LAMEmp3 rip. It sounds pretty proper to me.

yeah. the distortion doesnt really bother me too much, with
exception of Everything You Do Is A Balloon. that beat on
that version of the song is just.. *waves arms in air*

sure did!

yeah i think what i really like about boc maxima and songs
from that period is that you can sense a different motive in
there. its quite relaxed and dream-like, not as serious as
the later releases.

the main brass harmony is real english breakfast material.
