My last laptop shit the bed and I got a Service Plan
replacement, but the internal soundcard is shit. What
recomendations would you guys suggest (those that have
experience with any particular brand/model)?

I use it for live performances, so it's got to be tough. If
I can replace my midisport 2X2 at the same time that'd be
nice as well.

How many lines in / out do you need? If you just need stereo
in and out consider the M-audio transit which is small,
cheap, sounds great and has excellent low latency
performance in XP (don't know about Mac). No midi though.
