I was initially trying to make some autechre sounding beats, but ended up with this. It's mixed so you can listen to it at a low level, and there are no annoying high pitch sounds. Just some sweeping pads of lushness, and a beat :)
Hope you enjoy, it's been a long time since i spammed my stuff here. It's also been a long time since i made some strictly instrumental stuff. More vocal stuff will be coming soon, i promise.
Enjoy with a glass of red wine.

I don't have any wine but I listened to it with a lack of lights and a pair of cold feet and hands instead, and it worked perfectly
Lovely nighttime doodleing :)

I like it. could have used some more high pitched sounds maybe, the filtered drums are a bit too fuzzy. One of the chord changes reminds me of the end of Sigur Ros- Heysatan, which is a good thing

Cool!!! I love Sigur Ros. Maybe the chord change crept into my subconcious or something. I was aiming for the fuzzy sound, but maybe it could be executed better. I had just been listening to it for so long, i wanted to make it easy on my own ears, you know. Again, thank you very much for listening.

I dislike red wine but I really enjoyed this track. Exquisite synth, very nice melody/harmony. However, ditch the snappy snare, it almost ruins it all! I like your rolling filtered beat, it sounded very nice.

You might have a point. I considered the very same thing, but just went with it. Cheers!

Awesome! I felt pretty good about it myself (well, enough to post it i guess) but it's really great to get some positive feedback! Really encouraging!

Can you make it longer and ditch those snares? I'd love to hear a longer version of it.
Also, what is the synth, precisely. I must know so I can make similar.
to quote CeriJC,
TIA

The sort of "rich" one in the background, is a sample i made myself. Just played a note and messed with it, and added a lot of reverb, and then sampled it! (added a little flanger afterwards)
The "sawy" one, is a "flute" sound from an old computer system of sorts, that i again sampled. And like, in FLoops, you can make it take the last snippet of it, and repeat it, so it acts like a synth (i'm an idiot at explaining this). But i did that to this actually pretty nasty sounding flute sound, and just changed the envelopes, added some filter i think.
I really like using samples that way, as you might have noticed. If a sound has a little "glitch" in it, it can put some variation in the sound, rather than played straight from a softsynth.

Oh, and yeah, i posted it to hear if it was worth working further on, and it appears so. It could easily be longer in my world. Maybe make it more intricate, and with some more melody or something. Yay.

its kinda weird. The beginning could be metroid ish if more minimal. Other than that its changes were blocky and the beats could use more linear positioning actually. Overall sound quality was slightly cheesy, based on my terrible laptop speakers anyway. Try not listening to it for a couple days then listening again and see how it sounds to fresh prince of belair ears.

Valid critique there bro. About the sound quality, i've been listening to a lot of Ariel pink lately, and i'm just really beginning to love the fuzzy warm sound he has, so i'm trying to achieve something similar.
