So, I just got myself a Micro Q. It sounds awesome. I will
post pictures after our camera comes back from the shop.

8=D<~o (:

i got the microwave xt and still think this is one of the
most impressive gears ever.

it's like birthday again for me that waldorf is being
reincarnated - their new stuff looks awesome and the prices
are also good - thinking about the micro q myself - could
you post some audio samples and a short review ? would be
very nice.

one thing that i would love to have but is absolutely not
possible to find is the rack attack - it's so rare and when
someon already got it he won't give it away for nothing.

that was my biggest hope that they will continue making the
rack attacks... seems like i have to get the vst version

Whoa!
That Zarenbourg Electro Piano looks quite cool!

Rack attacks go for about 500 on ebay.

So far I have to say that the Micro Q is one impressive
piece of synthesizer. Being able to set an envelope to cycle
through a wavetable is ingenious, and so graciously
implemented here. I have a serious hate-hate thing for
synthesizers that require matrix surfing, but this one seems
extremely easy. While I can't give my definitive review
having only had a few hours with it, I will say this. Out of
all my VA, it seems to do analogue style bass better than
the rest, and its not even supposed to be a VA synthesizer.
Its not great that I can see for the rich BOC style pads
that I always end up making even though I don't intend to
however. It seems to be great for glitches and bleeps and
stuff. I can see where waldorf made their name.

It even has this cute synthesizer demo where they walk you
through each of the sound used in a little narrative that is
thrown into the menu. Its totally excessive, but kind of
gives you an hint at the obsessive little details that seem
hidden in this thing.

As for your audio demo thing, maybe/probably, but I am lazy,
so don't expect anything right away.

I've always fancied a Waldorf Pulse

Also Fender is gonna make a Rhodes mk 7!

(Now I'll get out of this thread to leave it on topic...)

My girlfriend says the exact same thing, only she is talking
about the money I end up spending on it instead of the gear
itself.

You seem to have quite a thing for the Electric Pianos.

Yes I am :)

Yeah, that new fender rhodes is totally analogue, but comes
with a midi and USB connection. I think the midi is hot, but
can't really care much about the USB connection, even though
it is an innovative touch.

Those new waldorf EP's look really hot too. Its kind of
cliche, but I really like the one with the british flag on
it. I hope they are true analogue and not sample based like
the nord stage or anything.

I really really want to get everything waldorf has to offer
now. I don't need the keyboard, but I really want the pulse,
a microwave and a rack attack. The microQ has totally sold
me on everything else.

You are keeping your gear now, right?

I had to sell the nord lead because I had absolutely no
money - it's working out for the better (the best, actually)
cause I replaced it with a micro modular. I am on it every
day/hour. im going to get a good midi interface so my laptop
can be a master clock for it and the sps-1

There is some other stuff that is hidden around other parts
of the room, such as my guitar pedals.

very nice mr. taxi... where did you find a micro Q? i'm
highly interested in the "blofeld"... expecting to get my
hands on one asap.

you need to post some sounds.

Local guy moving to Germany, decided he would rather just
play with samples he made than the synthesizer. I reaped the
benefits ;)

My studio is in a constant state of flux. Selling and buying
things. I am extremely happy to have a Waldorf synthesizer
in my studio (the early micro-q's should drop in price just
before the blofeld comes out, so expect to see them at
around $250 a few weeks prior).

I am going to be selling the nord soon. I want to get myself
a cs-20 and an mfb synth II, then invest in a good
controller keyboard.
