Funny little man is about as funky as Daniel O' Donnell. I
was with you with this thread right up until the word "idm",
I think the best exponent of this style might be some
Jamiroquai.

jamie lidell's multiply is the best possible combination of
the words funk and idm that i could think of.

I like me some classy New Orleans funk. Allen Toussaint, Lee
Dorsey and The Meters.

Some Autechre does make me feel kind of funky. Maybe 6ie.cr.
It's a nerdy kind of funk though. That's alright too.

one song:
Plenty Action by Soft Touch... you should hear it. i found
it on vol. 2 of this San Francisco Bay Area comp. if it
sounds familiar, it's because DJ Shadow samples it heavily
on this one song on Private Press.

wikkid wikkid.

in general though, i wish i knew about more electro funk.
stuff that maybe flirts with disco? stevie wonder keys... i
have a hard time getting a straight/good answer to this
query even though there should be a ton of it.

Recommended----> George Clinton - Computer Games

Very funky, with an eccentric cartoonesque edge.
