Dunno if anyone's heard of this guy, but he's a rapper from Canada. His new album Breaking Kayfabe is pretty wicked. The beats are very much in the vein of electro, and kinda similar to something like anti-pop consortium. His rapping is kind of laid back, and usually avoids the cliches of most rap music I hear at least, and that's a good thing. Anyway, check it out if you're looking for some new interesting hip-hop.
Some songs to check out: Oliver Square, Black Hand, 30 Seconds, Holy Smoke

Rollie's a good pal of mine, it's pretty insane how big he got so fast. i still find it really weird to hear him getting random mentions all the time by people outside of edmonton. he used to write for pitchfork and stylus, and i think that his awareness of some of the more stagnant areas of indie hop helps him steer clear of the clichees you talk about. plus he's a great producer.

That's pretty awesome. I can't remember the last time I was so into a rap album as much as this one. I saw the video for Black Hand on muchmusic numerous times, and just found it totally engaging.

I heard a track by him on a CBC Radio 3 podcast. There was a mention of a park or a hill in the title. Really enjoyed the production and his flow.
