Listening to the samples, the album is as shit as they make
out.

I disagree actually. Although the samples aren't great by
any means, i've still heard infinitely worse music listed on
boomkat which got favourable reviews.

Again, subjectivity...

are listening to.. heh

All the Secede musics I've heard until now have been rather
good

it doesn't sound like anything to get that upset over, but
it doesn't sound good.

Just listened to it again and the first and third samples
made me whince and the second one made me grimace. It's not
that the music is that bad, it's just the sounds used
are grating and I don't think it's intentional (it's not
that kind of music).

i didnt listen to the samples, i just thought it was a
refreshing review

listening to the samples, they just sound like generic "idm"
stuff, nothing like boomkat's indication. it's a funny
review, though. i think they do these once in a while
because they probably feel this way about a lot more
releases but can't afford to slate more than a few albums.

They're not reviews, they're catalouge descriptions.
But every now and again they'll have beef with someone and
slag them off.

That first track made me laugh, though.

they seem like reviews to me.

They appear that way, but they're selling the same releases
they're writing about. 99% of them are positive, you don't
get that on a music news and reviews site like pitchfork or
something.

I think it's stuff that's so bad, it makes them look bad for
stocking it. But they have to because of obligations with
labels or distributors or whatever.

this review is way to harsh imo.
don't think it's bad. I wouldn't buy it though.

so apart from boomkat not being able to write positive
reviews without sounding like they are just trying to sell
shit, they cant write negative reviews and let personal
aesthetic biases effect their irrational and irrelevant
hatred towards a release they think sucks, when its actually
competent?

i dont see the difference. boomkat suck regardless of what
they write. they support a lot of awful music and slag off
good records constantly.

it averages a review of 4.8/5 on discogs, this album.

artists ?

tycho ? secede ?

also, boomkat praises EVERY and I do mean EVERY dubstep
release there is no matter how crappy. and believe you me
most of it is crapy as hell.

I think the album's pretty good. Every time I read a Boomkat
review I think a few more of my brain cells die.

it's a well done and nice cd, upbeat and enjoyable. honestly
it's the only release on sending orbs id ever listen to more
than once or twice, which may be heresy to some. kind of
reminds me of jedi knights or the orb in some areas.

boomkat is too busy sucking dubsteps cock, praising
convoluted post rock and supporting boring, terribly
produced trendy minimal techno to care about good cd's.

its tough selling music.

i don't think it's that bad either, but that's just a
difference in taste among human beings isn't it?

I truly mean it – it’s like boomkat has gone through
with a tick sheet of everything you should do to have a
sell-out tendy catalog; Generic dubstep– check, Paint by
numbers warm pads and tinkly melodies IDM – check,
Nepotism spurred breakcore releases – check, Bootlegged
vomitorious remixes of Windowlicker – check, Generic
Avant-garde 'Sprockets" qulity music passed off as
experimental – check, Pretend academic wank fest bullshit
– check.

This reminded me why I didn't ask Rembrandt to paint my
doors.

It's a lovely Ambient release and should be rated as an
Ambient release. It seems like the cover already prejudice
the reviewers opinion. I do like the honesty in the review
as it's still a shop that need to earn money by selling
records.

The cover is the weakest amongst SO releases so far imo but
they can take it because all the previous covers were
amazing and fitted the music so well.

SORRY OUT OF STOCK!
