is there actually any law which regulates internet
advertisements?

i realised that those are more and more attacking you
without giving you a choice of looking at them or not.

i mean a few years ago there was this hype on popup ads -
but you can easily get rid of them today by popup blockers.

so the new trend seems to be all those flash banners which
grow when you get on a site.

now a few years ago that wasn't even a problem because you
could easily close them just clicking the "x" button.

but companies are trying harder more and more - first they
tried to disguise the close button or putting it in a weird
place, the they started to implement some algorythm that the
close button is off-function for a few seconds so you must
look at the add. now they even remove the button completely
and let you watch the ad for a few seconds without giving
you any option to delete it.

somehow this smells for me like breaking my "being-free-law"
as they make me watch those ads.

is it actually alrgiht with the law - in case there actually
is something like this.

Oddly enough a guy asked me a couple of days to do one of
these pop out flash adverts. To be honest I hadn't even seen
them (I guess I don't visit the right (wrong) websites, so I
had to actively go out and track down some examples. But I
objected to the idea on principle and said I wouldn't do it.
Plus it's just fucking stupid and pointless.

They've grown though because people have pop up blockers.
But if you're visiting someone's website they can throw what
they like at you as long as it doesn't harm your computer or
adult content without warning. I don't think "laws" are
being broken, I just wouldn't visit the sites that had that
kind of thing.

Speaking of uncalled for info, I've had 15 spams in my main
gmail inbox in the last 3 days. I hope it doesn't get worse.
