foobar2000 0.9 seems to be consuming 40% CPU for 10-20seconds every minute or two.. It's really annoying and making using the computer impossible.. itunes was less of a drag than this :/
Here is a list of components i'm using: Core (2006-11-25 13:21:34) foobar2000 core 0.9.4.2 foo_albumlist.dll (2006-11-25 17:49:06) Album List 3.2.0 foo_audioscrobbler.dll (2006-09-14 00:20:40) Audioscrobbler 2.1 foo_autoplaylist.dll (2006-08-04 21:56:56) Autoplaylist Manager 1.0 foo_cdda.dll (2006-11-25 13:19:46) CD Audio Decoder 2.1.1 foo_converter.dll (2006-11-25 13:20:00) Converter 1.0.1 foo_dbsearch.dll (2006-06-12 02:47:28) Database Search 1.4 beta 4 foo_dbsearch_api_demo.dll (2006-06-12 02:47:28) Database Search Toolbar Demo 1.0 foo_dsp_delta.dll (2006-03-21 18:16:22) LPCM <--> delta-PCM converter 0.1.1 foo_dsp_std.dll (2006-11-25 13:20:12) Standard DSP array 1.0 foo_freedb2.dll (2006-08-29 18:43:04) freedb Tagger 0.5.2a foo_input_std.dll (2006-11-25 13:19:14) FLAC Decoder 1.1.0 Standard Input Array 1.0 WMA Decoder 1.1 foo_masstag.dll (2006-11-25 13:18:42) Masstagger 1.6 foo_playcount.dll (2006-09-16 17:55:54) Playback Statistics 1.3.2 foo_rating.dll (2006-12-10 04:22:22) foo_rating BETA 1.1 foo_rgscan.dll (2006-11-25 13:18:18) ReplayGain Scanner 2.0.2 foo_ui_columns.dll (2006-11-22 12:05:24) Columns UI 0.1.3 beta 1v7 foo_ui_std.dll (2006-11-25 13:18:12) Default User Interface 0.9acc foo_uie_albumlist.dll (2006-11-22 12:57:39) Album list panel 0.2.1 foo_uie_console.dll (2007-01-13 14:22:20) Console panel 0.2
I've posted this at hydrogenaudio too, but am not getting much help. Anyone experience anything similar, or know how to fix this?

Most likely a dodgy codec.

or plugin.
Do you have something that auto pulls track information?

Well, the audioscrobbler plugin would do that i imagine.. Nothing else though - there aren't any plugins that're displaying track info in a panel.

It seems to happen like the soulseek memory leak. Whenever I do something big in firefox (like a flash animation, or google maps), both firefox and foobar go mad.

It could be audioscrobbler then. It will submit the track details as each track is about 50% through.
Try disabling it and see if it makes a difference.

Nope, no difference :/
I might have to go disable all the non-standard plugins and enable them one by one to try to isolate the problem :/

hrm, it seems to be happening regardless of whether foobar is running or not. i thought it was a problem with foobar because it started around the time i installed foobar.
using firefox 2.0.0.1 with only a few extensions (adblock+, download statusbar, video downloader, british english dictionary). Might go back to 1.5..

the beautiful thing about hydrogenaudio is that it is almost xlt's complete reverse. it's completely civilised. i mean, can you believe it? a civilised forum on the internet (without being too boring btw)

it wouldn't work. they smell trolls from miles. and besides, when you've created a new account you have to wait another week to be able to post. at appleinsider.com - also civilised but with a bit more zilty - it's even longer. it's a good way to keep the trolls out.

You don't need all that fucking plugins by the way. I use standard version. I guess that's what happens when you keep listening to the same crap over and over again: you need to turn the knobs a bit to have a little fun.
