im tired of waiting for new tunes by this wonderful man......yeah sure there are tons of other music but, I WANT MY APHEX TWIN... if richard died would reflex (the lable) and warp let us know, or would they put somebody else in richards body and carry on as if nothing happened? |

I think it'd be cool if someone took over from him. it'd be so fucked up, like most of richard's stuff. i can't say i'd like it though. but yeah. i'm really craving new aphex stuff, although there's too much music out there i want already. EVERYBODY, PLEASE STOP MAKING WONDERFUL MUSIC, DAMMIT!! |

In 1996, Aphex claimed he was working on algorithms that taught his computer to write its' own music. He also said he was working on that in 1999. He said that he was going to let his deal with Warp run out and release his best stuff on Rephlex. He also said in 1999 that his new album would be out in FIVE years. (2004) I got this info from the Alternative Press article he was in before Windowlicker was released. I think you can see it on this site. |

^ || Shutup. One thing that is kindof dissapointing is that I don't at all doubt the "jokes" that Rich makes about it not being his music or whatever. He has admitted to once being asked to remix something and just gave them an old copy of a song he wrote and said it was the remix. He has said several times half-jokingly that he releases stuff under other people's names, that he has put his friends tracks under his own name in his albums, and that he doesn't really give a shit about his fans or what they think. The music varies so much, maybe he's non-existant and its a compilation of several rephlex artists, he just acts as the image or figurehead. I'm sure you will jump to say no to this, but do you really have evidence to say its not? I'm not saying I really think that, but its not impossible, or even that unlikely. |

They would replace his body with someone else, another AFX. I figure in reality - he would just be dead, but some of us would hope his tunes would go on... if it was him or not. |
