I've just found this on the AI2 Comp and can't recall
seeing it anywhere else...I've got the rare 2 CD version and
it was a bonus on there....

anyone know any more about it?....or if it was available
anywhere else?...

Yep, Jand, I think you can only find it on AI II. The song
is pretty shitty though. There was another track released
around about the same time on a compilation tape from Select
magazine. The track was by Aphex and was called 'Phlid'. Did
you pick it up? I think it has some samples from the My
Teapot track.

My teapot and phlid are classics. When they came out at the
time I thought they were funny/strange but duff. Now when I
hear them, they sound revolutionary. There's loads of
electronica out now that sounds just like these odd tracks
but back then there wasn't. I guess it takes a while to
'understand' truly original work.

I dunno, dahei. I've had the My Teapot track since it came
out, and I still don't really like it. It just sounds like
he's taking the piss. As for the Phlid track, well I threw
that in the bin by mistake...

my teapot is on the vinyl version of AI2 as well, quite a
weak track though, like ABIII on the trance europe express
comp.

i think he was at the height of his can't be arsed stage
then - and was saving the better stuff for rephlex.

I kinda like My Teapot too...good experimental AFX...(kinda
got a Confield vibe as well...)...

yeah...I got PHlid...on that SELECT mag tape, yeah?...

Are these on CD anywhere?...

nacmat...i totally love that ABB3 on TEE...

Kinda spooky...and it does have some suprises...

Kinda smack dream music to me....almost as good as
Panasonic...

Hmm, perhaps I did get a bit carried away! You're right,
he's taking the piss but not in a "bet you think this is the
dogs bollocks you daft cunts!" way. I took it as a humorous
track. And the farty noise in in Phlid still cracks me up!
But I still think the tracks are great - the odd time
signatures remind me of the sort of thing Autechre are up to
these days. Also, they sound to me like they're being played
by a mad jazz robot band - now I'm definitely getting
carried away!

dahei - talking of robots have you seen the new release on
rephlex where all the music is made by meccano machines.

weird.

nah, haven't heard it - I don't listen to all the new
Rephlex releases in the shop like I used to. They've been
really inconsistent over the last couple of years in my
opinion. Meccano robots sounds pretty interesting though!
A Lego band, now that'd be cool as fuck! Imagine hundreds of
those little lego fuckers beating lego sticks and
raving?!?!?!
