do programs for Nord G2 or Modular classic work on the
micromodular, or will it only run micromodular specific
patches?

The Micromodular runs the same software as its big brother
modular but not sure about the G2.

As far as I know, the G2's are backwards compatible, but the
first gen modulars will not read G2 files.

The micromodular will read modular files, but you are
limited to only one DSP with the micro, compared to the 4
DSP's of the modular. So there is a chance that large
modular files may not work on a micro, or even cause it to
crash or freeze.

Of course, I have only drooled at the nord modular line,
having never tried it. I want a micromodular, but that is
for the future, after I have something by elektron, access
and of course, sequential circuits.

I have the micromodular, although I use it mainly as an
effects unit, it has a great vocoder and awesome filters.
You can construct loads of the vintage synths within it's
software and they sound great.

tax: thats good to know. im trading some stuff for one this
friday

sheff: how does its sequencer work?

The sequencer is like those old analogue modular sequencers.
I've not used it to be honest because your fav MIDI
sequencer will do a better job.

no, the original modular and the G2 cannot read each others
files.

some guy made a program that lets you convert original
modular files to G2 files (but not vice versa, for obvious
reasons)

get it here: link
