Why are you sick of it?

try ableton live (6 is out, but not cracked for mac yet).

its not as much for actual production of songs from sratch,
altho its possible, but export some of your fruity loops and
throw em in ableton and youll be amazed with just how much
fun you can have.

also, just to double check, if youre getting sick of fl,
delete your entire default sample library and make/sample
everything from scratch. everything default in fl is shit
and too easy of a crutch to lean on.

if its sounds youre looking for you can always record your
own... or make your own sounds on the computer.. or, i dont
know, find a new sample library? make new sounds from old
sounds, combine two sounds and make a new sound... you can
make music using no samples at all you know, ive made some
dope ass fuckin loops by accident

I love fruityloops, I can do just about anything with it.
I've never felt the need to upgrade either (still using
3.1). When I'm running short on unique samples, I'll just
play around in cool edit and create new sounds.

The FL 7 RC5 beta is terrific. They better hurry up and do
an official release before the beta runs out - I don't want
to go back to 6.0.8.

But yes, the included samples are shit. You need to get your
own content and plugs in there.

"everything default in fl is shit and too easy of a

"

This is absolutely false. It is possible to some
very amazing things with the Fruityloops' default setup.

Like...REALLY amazing.

to do*

I fail to undestand the lack of an edit function on this
forum.

Ableton Live is awesome, definitely.

ableton live's piano roll doesn't even come near to FL's
piano roll.
if you replace the sounds of FL wil your own and use some
good vsti's there is no stopping you from taking over the
world.

Fruityloops is fucking amazing, and i wouldnt want anything
else. It's brilliant. The default samples are shit, so just
stop using them!!! Make new ones in Cooledit (As Gwely
said), find cool ones on the net, sample shit. And start
using the mighty VST plugins. This will make fruityloops an
unbeatable monster of goodness.

My stuff

This has been done entirely in Fruityloops, and vocals
recorded and "cleaned" in cooledit. (I also used Analog x
vocoder for the chorus in some of them)

Places like OiNK have some great VSTs. I use FLv5 with many
VST and VSTis, and use Adobe Audition to sequence and
wave-manipulate.

I also love FLoops, but hardly ever use samples in it, apart
from various analogue drum hits etc, just use it for
sequencing VSTi's and programming beats. it's blooming
marvelous.

in the drum section, any given sound by any of those
programs wouldn't do really. Even though they are
modifiable, they're way too recognizable.
synth patches can be played with nicely though i reckon.

FL, Reason, Ableton...
all those softwares are great for bedroom productions

fl has that thing in every channel that allows you to modify
the sound. i mean drastically.. play with that.

you're not fed up with FL then. you're fed up with your
laziness. using a music software for 5 years can make it
your right hand really. try finding your own way of finding
sounds. stop using ready-mades. that's it.

you were making music for 5 years on the fruity loops
samples ?

christ then you'll have like 100 years of fun with reason.
