I whole-heartedly disagree. If you don't love emo and heavy
metal you shouldn't be here.

Away with your blasphemy!

I implore you to work on the construction of your sentences
and paragraphs. Whip those thangs into coherency.

Popular music is commercial, yes. Kind of tautological.

So true, Electronic music is the last bastion of free
expression, it's like punk was in its day, but with more
complicated beats. But that sad genre was only too willing,
along with Rock, and Pop, and Disco, and Folktronica and
Classical to hand its arse over to The Man and say "Take it,
and sell it to the masses". That's why Electronic music, to
truly stay underground, must uphold the solemn tenets of
IDM

Always be complex
Use lush melodies, but sparingly
Appeal to young men who'd like to be IDM musicians
Remain underground until offered chance of soundtracking and
advert for landmines or a documentary about abuse in homes
for the elderly

I unagree. Music is better than ever, and has always been
better than ever. The .00000001% of it that pollutes the
charts is pretty negligible.

like that.

look at Elton John. The better looking he became the worse
his music got. When he was doing rocket man you almost had
to turn the television off. Now with his fancy suits,
diamond studded rolexs and million dollar wigs his songs
have become the antithesis of his polished exterior..

I think the mainstream "Rap Music" has become far too
commercialized...

I havent heard a new rap song I liked in years. I miss the
old Ice Cube jams and even Snoop's "Doggystyle," as
mainstream as it was, was a massive cut above all the
designer trend shit coming out of MTV these days.

But thankfully some artists like Kool Keith emerged from the
wreckage, and while I wouldnt call most of these artists
"Rap" they do fill the rhyme spittin' void that grows larger
and larger every time some kid leaves the 51-50 sticker on
his hat and forgets to fold the brim.

You shouldn't really worry about stuff like this, I don't
think. Worrying about who's listening to it or not listening
to certain music, or even the image of a lot music, is kind
of pointless isn't it? I don't listen to a lot of the pop
music of today, not really because of the image thing, but
because I think the music is crap. I don't mind image in
music as long as the music behind the image is good.

I think it's fun and exciting when something underground
breaks into the mainstream like rave or hip hop did 15 years
ago, it's just when the same old shit gets recycled for the
millionth time, it gets tedious.

i hate it when i hear new music and then months later come
to find out who it is actually making the music and their
image totaly does not fit the sound. i think a lot of good
artist get tossed to the way side just becuase who ever the
stylist was sent by the major label big wigs fucked them
over by making them trendy than actually looking llike the
scene from whic they belong or came from in the first place,
so yeha fuck hollywood!@

and on a sid enote fuck ergonomic keyboards!
